It seems the holy right to firearms is more important than dead children.

I don't want to get shot by someone who sees an imaginary friend telling them to do it, or by a bi-polar person on one of their downswings! In this instance, less "freedom" is necessary for public safety. Just like you have to have a driver's license to drive a car, or a CDL to drive a heavy truck. So that some incompetent doesn't do it and hurt people
What were Bush's and Obama's mental illnesses when they offed 500K Iraqi civilians?

How come no background check for them?

Don't change the subject we are talking about domestic gun laws not foreign policy.

You can't compare warfare to civilians buying firearms; that is disingenuous and a strawman at that.

Again, mentally I'll individuals, especially bi-polar or schizophrenia should NEVER get to legally buy firearms, they are just too dangerous to other people, as they have violent mood swings and see imaginary people

What's disingenuous is having a set of rules for one group (the people) and another for those classified as "government".

What about all the people within its own borders that States, including the U.S., kill?

A great deal of those people are violent criminals and our government is remarkably restrained in its treatment even towards them. Even so they have the consent of the governed if you don't like it vote them out of office and replace them with people that share your values.

From their cold dead hand.

And the world used in the amendment is people, not citizen. Immigrants, legal or illegal, were never left defenseless in this nation.
