Whether Ryan goes or stays, come next January, Nancy Pelosi may be taking the gavel and yell out, "I'm Back!"

Paul Ryan might resign in 30-60 days
Or he might not. Either way it's just a GREAT headline.

Both houses of congress should be having a vote of no confidence in the leadership.
Not hearing anything about that happening. The leadership screwed the rank and file in both houses of congress. Lack of response to replace the leadership shows fake outrage hiding their enabling. If leadership isn't held accountable no reason to expect anything different on the next budget bill.
It would be great if Ryan would resign and maybe he will. Its not enough.

And there’s more:
Squire Patton Boggs also represents China, a long list of corporate clients, including AT&T, Amazon.com, Goldman Sachs & Co., Royal Dutch Shell, and the Managed Funds Association, a trade group for the largest hedge funds in the country.

Boehner is signing onto Squire Patton Boggs “as a strategic advisor to clients in the U.S. and abroad, and will focus on global business development.”

The news comes just a week after the announcement that Boehner will be joining the board of Reynolds American, the tobacco company responsible for brands such as Camel and Newport cigarettes. The tobacco board seat will likely earn Boehner over $400,000 a year in stock and cash. The Squire Patton Boggs salary has not been disclosed, but lawmakers of Boehner’s stature have easily obtained salaries at similar gigs in the seven-figure range.
Ahh!

The swamp is deeper and murkier than ever.

I think this truly is an OLD saying. The Republicans are now so divided, I think it is no longer true. I think neither party is good at finding consensus, and neither is unified.

I seem to remember that Ryan didn't want the speakership and really had to be convinced. I'm sure he has been sorry that he accepted it many times over. However, Speakers of the House do get significantly higher pensions than regular members, so he will continue to reap that benefit for the rest of his life. It would not surprise me if he did resign as speaker. I wish he would resign all together, or at least choose not to run for re-election.

Good. It’s about time this deadbeat found a REAL job. Wish McConnell would go too. Take your bad ideas with you....

Ryan is a spineless liar. Why would he resign, it’s the perfect job for him.
