Cohen strikes me as a two bit lawyer that talks tough but will fold pretty quickly to save his own hide. I doubt he’ll go to the hoosegow to save Trump. Time will tell soon enough though.
Trump's inner group do not sound like the type that would go out of their way to save Trump; they seem the same ilk of throwing each other under the bus when opportunity arises or the need comes.
Trump will pardon him if the feds charge him. He only flips if the state can charge him with something serious. I don't see it happening but anything is possible.
Trump threw Cohen under the bus with the statement that he never knew about the NDA, knowing it would probably mean the loss of Cohen's license to practice law. Cohen is not going to take a bullet for Spanky. If there is anything in the files that were confiscated that is incriminating to Trump, he's going to flip, sing, and let Trump explain the discrepancies alone. Can't say as I blame him a whole lot.
I think he will. Trump hasn't exactly kept some of his promises to Cohen, so Cohen will weigh the options and make the decision to save his own butt. He is facing some very serious ethics and criminal charges, and will want to do whatever it takes to avoid a lengthy prison sentence.
Mueller played this one perfectly, handing this off to the tough NY Southern District, where Trump can not pardon Comey. Trump has to be fuming right now, and not sure how to handle this one.
I've been saying since day one that this Trump Presidency is going to end in a very strange way, and , more and more, it is looking that way. This one has all the elements..........a crooked Attorney, a porn star, the Russians, etc, etc.
If there was Russian collusion we would of known about it a year ago from the other multiple people that "flipped on Trump". Cohen may say "Yes, Trump knew about the Stormy payment and lied when he denied it." In that case, big whoop who cares.
It is interesting they seem to be giving up on obstruction of justice charges, Mueller is striking out big time.

Huh uh, this isn't Monopoly with a free get out of jail card. Trump only has limited abilities to pardon people, and State charges are exempt , most times.

Depends on whether or not Cohen is charged with a federal offense.
And also on how many pardons Trump thinks he can issue and still maintain his own political viability. I don't know what that number would be, but it surely is a finite number.
