Let it be noted that Democrats would rather we have a nuclear winter and prefer Trump fail rather than to have Trump broker a deal and receive credit for it.

I'd agree but the same type of "progress" occurred under Clinton. It's good news but come see me ten years down the road.

So far, it's just words. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Let's not forget we've been down this road before. A few times. The DPRK can be trusted as far as I can chuck a house.

Personally, I just don't think you should count your chickens before they hatch.

It's not nothing but I wouldn't call something either. Kim's father used the threat of building nuclear weapons as a bargaining chip under Clinton. He got what he wanted and of course they never held up their end of the deal. We need to be very careful that doesn't happen again.

Please always keep in mind, when it comes to what we hear about NK, its SECOND HAND INFORMATION, none of us really truly know whats going on over there or if Kim Jung is really as kooky as we are told he is.

The North Korean state media depict the US in a certain manner too, so their citizens believe what they want them to believe about the US and its people, would not surprise me in the least if the same thing was not being done to us as well.

Valid point. To them, we're still coming to eat their babies.

Whatever they are doing over there, could be completely misrepresented over here/there. It will come out in time, but for all we know, Kim could have his propaganda machine telling his citizens that "The Dotard Trump has now kowtowed to the supremacy of the DPRK, all thanks to Dear Leader Kim Jong Un". We know, for sure that they will eat it up. Our citizens shouldn't be so fast to do the same. Our media will spin it one way, theirs will spin it another.

North Korea 'halts missile and nuclear tests', says Kim Jong-un - BBC News

“We no longer need any nuclear test site or need to test-launch medium-range, or intercontinental-range ballistic missiles” because North Korea has completed weaponizing its nuclear warheads, Mr. Kim said. “The nuclear test site has done its job.”

I'm not sure how that can be misinterpreted. They're done testing, and now a nuclearly capable state.

Just to reach a little: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-n...-idUSKBN1D018L

Perhaps the smartest ones working on the program were killed in the collapse, leaving a void that can't be filled in the Hermit Kingdom. Perhaps with the Chinese pulling away, food reserve shortage, some effective trade blocks, and a more reasonable South Korean President have made Kim slow his roll. Just a reach, but it could be possible.

To think that the end game is Kim giving up because he all of the sudden has a conscience, is almost laughable. There's more to it. he DOES have an end goal, what that is, NONE of us in the USA know.
