I've been reading excerpts from Macron's speech to joint session of congress. "There is no Planet-B". Can we just dispense with the constitution and let this guy be our president too until the next election?
Alas, if we dispense with Trump we're stuck with Pence and Mother.
Is it official protocol for the President to hug and kiss another male head of state for as long as Trump embraced Macron, leaving the spouse of said head of state to be totally ignored? If so, can you point me to where this "official protocol" can be found, perhaps in some "Guide for Presidential Behavior towards Other Heads of State", published by the Government Printing Office and thus available at a reasonable price for all the rest of us?
Surely some White House staff member could have been directed to assist Mme. Macron - you know, opening her car door, welcoming her, indicating where she should go to meet and greet the Trumps, and so on. Trump's behavior towards her was identical to his clueless treatment of Melania when the Trumps visited the Obamas with the Tiffany-wrapped gift, just prior to the change of administrations. Very self-centered.
And very ungracious, and in sharp contrast to Trump's obvious man-crush on her husband.
Frenchie likes it and says its friendly.
We know what's wrong and it doesn't involve Trump or Frenchie.
"Frenchie"?
Macron neither likes it nor believes it's friendly. An ounce of common sense would allow you to deduce that from his demeanour while receiving one of Trumps repulsive moves.
This is why you should never depend on spell check.
"Viscous" was spelled correctly but used in the wrong context (the left having the same "viscous attacks for the French president due to his accent."). That's why spell check wouldn't have caught it. It's obvious that the intended word was "vicious". And I wouldn't have mentioned it had the poster not made a comment about people "who don't speak a word of English" as if he's the second coming of William Shakespeare.
