Quote:
“While Kanye can live safely in his multimillion-dollar castle, the rest of black America is continually marginalized and subject to unjust laws and treatment. Some even die because this behavior is so ingrained in our society,” the petition reads.

“Kanye West has a right to free speech, and he has the right to spout lies and misinformation and misplaced opinions — but we as consumers have the right to fight back against this type of dangerous propaganda.”

“That is why Care2 is asking Adidas to drop their partnership with Mr. West and tell the world they do not want anything to do with anyone who believes that millions of Africans chose to toil the fields in bondage for 400 years,” it concludes

Petition Demands Adidas Cut Ties with Kanye West

What do you think?

I think the petitioners are a bunch of bullies who can't stomach intellectual diversity.

They are attempting a soft repeal of the first amendment. There are no official laws restricting free speech... but the social justice system is an unofficial arbiter that restricts certain speech.

If Kanye had expressed support for Adolph Hitler or Idi Amin, yea I might raise an eyebrow.

Otherwise I could possibly care less.

West is an intellectual midget. I would prefer that he keep expressing his opinions. As time passes and more people see him for what he is, they will drop away - and so will his corporate supporters.

I think it's sad that with so many problems with the country, this is what we worry about.

No. I am soooo tired of people who get their feelings hurt by the words of others who are expressing their right to free speech and in turn bully them or attempt to boycott their sponsors or ask their sponsors to sever ties with that individual.
