We have some pathetic excuses for human beings posting on this very thread. You have a president who went out of his way to avoid the military bashing a man that sacrificed almost everything serving in it. I didn't agree with everything McCain did or said but I respect him for his military service alone. His "No" vote for the ACA repeal was monumental because it saved us from an even worse health care bill that would have left millions more with out insurance. Also, his thumbs down was essentially a big middle finger at the man that disrespected him and countless others.

I hope our country wakes up soon.

McCains's bitter because he groomed himself to be President and couldn't cut it. How long has he been Senator? 30 years now?

Trump did it in one shot, against all the odds.

Trump wins this one.

When will normal American Citizens WAKE UP to what this "Unhinged Man" and why he is dismantling the Initial "Fabric" of the American Constitution!! McCain was considered a "Maverick" his whole life , while not a perfect human.. He sure tried to be principled when he said something... Politics aside.. He tried to follow his personal/State/Processes of Government !!

I sure wish HIM well, but considering his health threats and his age.. I'm not surprised he is preparing for the " Worst" case scenario!!
Why do you care?

You're not an American, you're a Canadian.

It's not your constitution.

Please encourage Canadian leadership to take in all those suffering refugees.

I would have suggested Senator McCain have prepared for the worst case scenario many months ago by resigning. Spend what time you have left with friends and family.

If this really is the end, I think Trump needs to tweet something nice and innocuous about McCain's many years of service to America and let Pence represent the administration. His presence at the funeral is likely to cause great distress to Cindy McCain and the rest of the family. Let the man have a dignified service and grant his family room grieve without the media circus that follows Trump wherever he goes.

But Trump could put those 37 words in his vocab into some amazing eulogy that makes his base jump for joy.....like he might say "I like soldiers that don't get captured" or something else GREAT.

Big Big Big. Unbelievable. I know you won't believe this, but it is huge. I am huge. I am great. They said I wasn't great, but I am great.

Now, goodnight, and John - you "captured" warrior, RIP.

At least John McCain's mother will be at his funeral. Not many 81 year olds have a living mother. She's 106 and still quite healthy!

Somehow I don't find that comforting. I saw a friend of mine Grandmother go through that a few years ago. She was 97 and buried her only child, her daughter. She was 67. It was horribly sad. Broke my heart to see that frail yet powerful woman place her hand on her daughter's casket right before it went into the ground.

McCain isn't bitter. He's the only republican who stands up to Trump and doesn't back down with all the insulting tweets Trump throws at him. All the rest of rebublicans are cowards. McCain has served our country for decades and kept getting re elected. This is not the first time Trump ran for president but it will be his last. He ran on a more liberal agenda then since he was for universal healthcare
