16th Amendment--authorized government theft of income via income tax.

17th Amendment--took the powers of the states and transferring them to Washington, by mandating the popular election of senators.

Federal Reserve Act--gave a monopoly on the creation of dollars to a consortium of large banks.

The interstate freeway system, and the electrical system are "Bread and circuses"? I use them all the time, but I'm assuming you don't. That is cool with me.

No, Corporatism destroyed America.
1970 is right around the time corporate and banking lobbying took off in a big way.
In 1970, there were less than 200 Corporate and Banking Lobby Offices in Washington DC.
Today, Lobby Offices number in the thousands in the DC Area.

Small Business made America Great.
Corporations destroyed it.

Small Business did not have stocks on wall street or politicians on speed dial.
Corporations do.

All of which could have been built without government involvement.

Why do you people think the State is some sort of all-knowing, omnipotent god that is the mother of all invention?

I don't think an interstate freeway system could have been built state by state.

The "State" is not an all knowing, omnipotent god, that is the "mother of all Invention"

The federal Government is good at doing large projects that encompass the whole nation.

I'm out...
