As others have said, Trump owns it now after taking over for Obamas red coats. This is not a partisan issue, its a govt issue. Only can your minds heal after you stop looking at everything through a D or R filter.

Should you automatically be pulled over and questioned for driving around in a $57,000 car?

You can't travel internationally with that amount of cash without reporting it to Customs PRIOR to traveling and have proper documentation from Customs, it will be seized until they find out why you didn't do that which this guy didn't. It's been like that for a very long time. The article is completely wrong about how they are portraying it. You don't have to have committed a crime for them to take it when you are traveling with that much cash without reporting it if TSA deems they need to call law enforcement because of your answers to any questions or actions/behaviors. If it's legit, he will get it back.

Dude, go do some research. You have to report to Customs that you are bringing more than 10k on an international flight PRIOR to travel. Do you drive your car internationally?

Why? You break what law by carrying a large sum of cash?

If I have $57k in the bank, and I take it all out in cash and carry it around, what law am I breaking? What if I am paranoid and don't like using credit cards, but I do like having baller vacations, and I figure $57k in cash is enough to let me go somewhere and live the baller life for a week or two. What law have I broken by choosing to have the cash to pay for such things? If I take all four of my credit cards with their current balance/limits, I am carrying a good chunk more than $57k in spendable funds, I am just carrying it differently. Nobody would stop me from carrying all four of my credit cards with a much higher spendable total, so why should I be stopped for carrying cash which represents less spending power?

Why though? Why do you have to report cash to customs? Again, if I fly internationally with my credit cards, I am traveling with more than $57k in spending power, just in a different form than cash. I don't report my available balance to customs? If I do banking while overseas (which I have), I don't have to report deposits to customs, even though they represent the EXACT SAME THING as carrying cash across a border.

EXACTLY

It is none of their damn business if I carry cash. Unfortunately law enforcement considers cash people to be extra funders of their departments and athletic leagues, never mind what "disappears" before it hits the evidence locker.

All the more reason to limit govt and never trust it.
