I think Trumpism = the GOP being taken over by old working class socially conservative Democrats. A lot of free market educated Conservatives dislike Trump on many (but not all) issues.

There's some truth in that and the GOP should be thanking Trump and their lucky stars that somebody saved them from themselves. The Democratic party was once solidly with the people and had some sense in their platform. Those conservative Democrats held the House for 40 years.

Today their party is an enemy of the state, right along with the pre-Trump GOP.
