I don’t think you quite understand. Management’s job is to administer the directives of the owner, not make decisions that the owner should be making. He overstepped his boundaries big time and faced the consequences. If the owner decided he didn’t want customers wearing MAGA hats that would be a different story and I would agree with you.

I was following a car yesterday that had a BERNIE 2016 bumper sticker on it and I thought it was silly but I certainly wasn't triggered by it.

I always thought the word Liberal meant, free, open minded but Trump has certainly brought out the ugly in them.

Not in Canada. The NRA means nothing and most might not even know what it stands for.

Open minded does not mean accepting intolerance. Remember this happened in Canada, where the hat represents not just the horribleness of a horrible man, but a man who has insulted Canada and lies constantly about it.

Why should any Canadian put up with that? The customer was a jerk or a fool, or both.

Your assumption that the manager is " liberal " is a very American take. The labels don't apply the same in Canada, however I understand that " liberal " is an insult in the US, it's not in Canada.

As much as I hate Trump, I would NEVER wear a t-shirt of anything insulting while I was visiting the US. This guy should not have either.

Remember this took place in CANADA and the hat's message is offensive to Canadians of ALL political stripes.
Why?

Because the hat's message is tied to Trump the man, and Trump the man is offensive across the Canadian political spectrum?

Yes. Do you really think Canadians like a man who insults and lies about us? Wearing the hat is supporting that. Which is FINE if you aren't in Canada, but he was.

Why do they need to do that? If someone enjoys wearing a cap or had so what. This is 2018.

I imagine you think men should tuck their shirts in also?
