Yeah, I know; "We can't do THAT!" More and more it is becoming a nice thought, though.
Hell no. I want México to remain a foreign country so that I can continue to have a place to get the hell away from Americans (U.S. citizens) from time to time without needing to catch a flight.

I can just hop in my car and drive to Guaymas, Sonora and I’m instantly around sane people who understand what’s important in life. Not to mention a short walk to the beach from the rental house.

The question is not what should we do, it is what have we done?
The answer is that the "war on drugs" have increase assassinations, drug production, drug consumption and corruption. It is the same with the "war on terror", the result is more wars, more terrorism and more death.
New president elect in mexico vowed to end the war on drugs. If he keeps his word violence will decrease, the corrupt DEA will have to deal not only with their bodies [some of the cartels] but with all of them, and hopefully people will realize how much of this drug money is laundered in american and british banks.
Everyone in latinamerica knows this, it is probably conspiracy theory to americans.

Not justification, just a cause. Look outside of your bubble.
