Maybe so, but they still have the "opinion" section, which is where you are quoting from.

Not quite true. Trump won because he flipped those midwest voters who voted for Obama. Those people have saw their jobs get shipped overseas and they will vote for anyone who will bring them back. Obama could not do it and Trump will not do it. Sadly those manufactoring jobs are gone for good and that part of the country is going to have to transition to another type of job base. You have to remember those same folks voted for Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton during the primaries so they could care less about political ideology. They lost their way of life because of cheap wages in China, Vietnam, Mexico etc, etc. No president is going to change this fact. Just like Detroit they need to realize those jobs are gone forever and the quicker they realize this the quicker they can move on to something more productive.

Trumplings will continue to support their orange messiah no matter what.

The other half of his supporters will peel away when the economy stalls, leaving him with approval ratings in the 18 - 20% range.

And that's Dubya territory.

It's what Obama was all about too. It's what Hillary was all about.

Don't be fooled.

Maybe for some -- but I don't know any Republican (and I know mainly Republicans) who voted for Trump because they wanted Trump. They didn't vote for him as their choice for the nominee....but it didn't matter -- they plugged their nose and voted for him because he was Republican..

But he most certainly did so!

Total myth here.

Trump won three key states and their electoral votes by a whomping 80K total among the three.

That's no big mandate or statement or protest -- that's folks taking a look at two deeply flawed candidates and just thinking - -oh hell let me try this for a change.

It isn't the media...it just isn't.

That's what Trump supporters keep saying -- trying to dismiss the notion that there are intelligent, competent people with good reason for not voting or supporting Trump

And yes, there were intelligent, competent people who thought it might be good to give Trump a try.

None of us will know the full impact of Trump until the next Presidential election - but we may get an inkling from the mid-terms this year.

For those that spout some great big theories about the Trump win -- we could say that they have been brainwashed by their conservative media -- but I would never dismiss someone's opinion like that.

Maybe years ago the Democrats held the monopoly on identity politics, but the Republicans are right in there with them now and rely on it as much.

Yes support for Trump is the strong Republican base but as noted a few times, a Gallup poll in December showed a shrinking percentage of voters that identified Republican.....so if you have 80% of declining numbers -- you aren't gaining or even holding support......
