Wild hypothetical since the US is designed to prevent a true dictatorship from ever happening...but I'm curious about people's mindset on this anyway.

Would you support someone who 100% shared your stances having absolute power in the US?

Or would you prefer the current system, even if it means the country won't necessarily be run the way you want it to be?

And if we can, let's try to not get into little catfights over whether which "side" would just *love* a dictatorship lol. Just answer as an individual.

And because I don't want this thread to turn into being about Trump or Obama or Hillary, let's pretend the dictator would be somebody completely new.

Imho it’s truly...disheartening...that such an idea might be entertained, even hypothetically, in the U.S. Tragic.

. My answer: No.

I am not a violent man, but the end of peaceful transfer of power in the United States is perhaps the one thing that could cause me to take up arms. Liberty or death.

Kim jong un is a dictator china clearly wanted when they showed up in the Korean War to push us back, leading to the current dictator family dynasty

Lets ask the starving NK citizens how they feel about it...

In case the OP hasn't noticed, dictatorships don't work too well for the civilians.

Yep absolutely! I don't believe in democracy anyways. I prefer a benevolent dictatorship.

I've noticed, thanks. For the record, no, I wouldn't ever support a dictatorship, no matter how many of my political stances they shared.
