After decades of getting screwed by China on trade it's become practically impossible to buy things like appliances and electronics without it coming from China. Our only other options are very expensive US made equivalents in comparison and that's because 1.) China is building them with slave labor and 2.) China has been allowed to import these items into our country for decades essentially tariff free while charging us significant tariffs on the items we export to China.
China loves the arrangement they've had for decades, we've transferred trillions of dollars of wealth to them and they aren't going to give that up easily but we have no choice but to fight it... now is as good of a time as any.
Anyone who looks at our current situation and doesn't see how the US gets royally screwed is blind.

Rather have a little temporary pain than continue to be ripped off long term.
Exactly, that's why the left is blowing up the stories of bailouts on the US side... they know that the average democrat voters is just a hateful moron who is easy to sway. It's easy to convince them that those "redneck farmers" or those "rich white lobster fishermen" are getting bailed out and shouldn't be. Keeping democrats believing that they're at the top of the victimhood food chain is vital.
No one is forced to buy any of these things, but if you don't like that "Made in China" sticker on the items you purchase you do without.
In reality no one is forced to buy anything but some civilized people consider things like shelter, transportation and basic household items to be "needs" that most people have. The point is that it's hard to find a lot of those items without the "made in China" sticker these days because we've allowed them to screw us for decades. They know it, Americans with common sense know it and Donald Trump clearly knows it. Even Democrat politicians know it but they won't agree with or admit to anything that even remotely makes the President Trump right.
