While I agree that inside trading is evil and must be stopped no matter which party they represent, but one thing about your post title...It should read 'alleged' inside trading.
Ehhh...no. Anyone who reads that story can figger out purty easily that he HAD to be committing insider trading. Either that, or he’s God because no human could’ve been THAT damn prescient.
While working for the IMF, SS tax not paid as a self-employed person would pay it.
When this was discovered, the $40K was paid as well as the fine. No problem. No investigation. No indictments. Nothing.
Most Republicans as well Democrats viewed this as an honest mistake rather than a sign of a criminal enterprise.

Gowdy never held a hearing where he intended to hold anyone accountable. It was no mistake. We hired someone to run the treasury that argued that he couldn't even figure out his own taxes.

Then it isn't a lie. There may be a valid argument to be made as to why it is but it's not a lie.
