I'd agree with that, and I would also say that the current President has been attacked, lied about and treated worse than any previous President including Nixon by the media.

He didn't, but Obama wasn't trashed, lied about, attacked and ridiculed by the media 24/7 from the day he as elected until eternity. The Media generally loved Obama and stood up for him in most cases. We've seen an entire genre of print, TV and internet media emerge with the sole purpose of lying about and attacking President Trump.

Which just proves that the others were wusses. Who has been attacked by the press with such voracity as Trump and Nixon?

Does your concern for the free press also include the conservative news outlets or are you glad to see them being shut down?

Exactly. I’ve never seen so many media outlets line up to lie about a single person. Talk about collusion!

lmao @ the press saying it's wrong to try and destroy them when they do that to people all day long especially Trump. The press nowadays are nothing but a bunch of whining high schoolers.

When Obama was president the media was nothing more than a worshipfest. Anyone who can't see through them (msm) doesn't want to.

And the press refused to report on Barry's past. There was plenty out there but the leftist MSM were to cowardly to report it.

Billionaires vs. the Press in the Era of Trump
A small group of superrich Americans — the president-elect among them — has laid the groundwork for an unprecedented legal assault on the media

By Emily Bazelon

In the last few years, Trump has been joined by at least two billionaires who are determined to exploit cracks in the wall of defense around the press... They have sued or funded suits to defend reputations or protect privacy. But an underlying aim appears to be to punish critics...or even destroy entire media outlets.

This mistrust has been growing for a long time, but it was stoked by Trump during the campaign. He called the reporters who covered him “scum” and whipped up yelling and booing crowds.

For the whole article:

That's a bad assumption that you are making. I am becoming increasingly convinced that there is little understanding of the value of a free press, nor of the fundamental upheaval that would occur if it is indeed destroyed - particularly with the hardline Trump supporters. They are playing with fire like foolish children.
