How soon they forget - we actually had a Dem in the Oval Office in 2013 - anyone remember that?

Do the Hair on Fire Media (Brennan & Clapper included) remember this?

W.H. looks to scrub clearance list
By JOSH GERSTEIN @Politico - 11/21/2013

The Obama administration has ordered a government-wide reassessment of how almost 5 million Americans have been granted classified information security clearances and whether each person currently approved to see sensitive national security secrets truly has a need for such access.

In a directive obtained by POLITICO, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper questioned the booming rolls of security-clearance holders. At last count, more than 4.9 million people held clearances, of whom over 1.4 million were cleared for access at the “Top Secret” level.

“I write to express my concern about threats to national security resulting from the increasing number of people with eligibility for access to classified national security information, particularly Top Secret (TS) and Top Secret/Secure Compartmented Information (TS/SCI),” Clapper wrote in a three-page memo, dated Oct. 31 and cited at a Senate hearing Wednesday.

Clapper asked agencies to perform a top-to-bottom scrub of the teeming rolls of people authorized to access classified information and to remove anyone deemed not to have a so-called need to know.

The memo itself does not set a deadline for the government-wide clearance review, but an aide to Clapper told a Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs subcommittee that agencies have until the end of January to complete the process.

The Leftists and Brennan himself would have grounds for all this "retaliation" talk .... IF
it were not well documented that he has LIED under Oath to Congressional Intelligence Committees at least 3 times and he has been very "erratic" in his statements about US Foreign Policy AND has Leaked Classified information to Media ..... ALL Ground for Revoking a Clearance & Eligibility.

Brennan is one of Trump's most vocal critics. We have also seen Clapper and some others also speaking out about the President. This is unprecedented as retired intelligence service members almost never speak in public regarding anything about their former jobs.

You get the impression that these folks have very damaging and troubling information about Trump and his cohorts that is so alarming and detrimental to the security of this country that as patriots they feel compelled to speak out.

Or they were afraid Trump wasn't going to go along with the continued spying on American citizens. I do not see that as being the case but I'm simply noting another possible concern of theirs.

People with as much power as Brennan and Clapper do not easily let it go.

If the real reason his security clearance was revoked was because of the alleged perjury then:

(a) the White House would have mentioned "perjury" as the reason for doing so in the July 26 memo instead of "erratic conduct" and because he "exceeded the limits of professional courtesy due to him" and was "leveraging his access" to classified documents;
(b) Trump would not have linked the reason for the revocation to the Russia investigation to the WSJ;
(c) Sanders would not have announced the reason as his "increasingly frenzied commentary" and would at least mentioned "perjury in congressional testimony" as a reason for the revocation;
(d) He would have had clearance revoked shortly after his supposedly-perjurious testimony in May 2017;
(e) GOP Senators would have cited "perjury" as the reason for the revocation, rather than "acting like a butthead";
(f) The revocation would have occurred in the normal course of review, with oversight from people like the Director of National Intelligence (who was never consulted), rather than by White House fiat; and
(g) There would not have been a list of other people being reviewed that are not accused of perjury before Congress as part of the announcement.

Note: To date, no White House official has claimed the revocation arose out of a claim of perjury before Congress.

Personally, I don't care if Brennan has or doesn't have a security clearance, but this whole thing stinks to high heaven of political retribution.

Brennan and the truth are often in conflict, he has no business advising any President. He's just a disgruntled old man still trying to be relevant. Sad.

Soooo..The Russians post a list of people, 2 days later Trump signs a document removing Brennans (one of those people) clearance. And those people the Russians listed are called out by Trump as under review. A month later Trump makes the letter he had made in July official.

Trump is obstructing justice by trying to intimidate folks, and he is using a Russian created list to do so. What a mess.

It's just one more instance of tRump taking his marching orders from Putin.

"Getting along with Russia is a good thing!"
