I'm a liberal in a super red area but I've been watching this race from afar.

It seems to me that this young lady has several touches of the Trump playbook going on here. Banning the press today might have been with good intentions but, obviously, her team saw how such a decision would cause a backlash and thus....more national media.

To me, she's kind of like a ball hog and I think it might have cost a few of her endorsed candidates in their own elections.

Little by little, she's making amateur gaffes and it's starting to build up. Think of this. In the NY-14 primary a few weeks ago, about 30K voted. If you look back at the general in 2016, that's about the same amount of votes Crowley's GOP challenger got with just 17% of the vote.

What does the rest of the district really think? We'll see in November.

Crowley is still on the ballot with over a million bucks that was earmarked for the general election. If she continues to fumble the ball, she won't win in November.

You heard it here first!

There are so many haters here! Americans need to get used to the idea that the younger generation is leaning to a more Democratic-Socialist society. Healthcare, jobs, homes, etc..for everyone! The tax breaks for the rich needs to end right away, and a useless, expensive wall is the most idiotic thing ever!

Youre funny. Cortez is using the Trump playbook? GOP candidate can win? Crowley as an independent? Where do you come up with this stuff?

once again you are picking one item and making claims about it, and thinking that what was done in germany can be scaled up and it cant. but again this isnt just about health care or education, its about EVERYTHING she wants to try to accomplish.

once again she wants everything paid for by the government, but the problem is that government runs on taxes, and even if you grab everything everyone from the least to the greatest makes, or owns, you cannot run the government for very long. even if you end the military spending completely you cant run the government. and that is where the problem lies. socialism runs out of other peoples money, and with a country the size of the US it does so very quickly, and then you have to find other sources for money.

and if you monetize the debt, your inflation rate goes through the roof. so please, stop with the bull crap, and actually STUDY what she wants to do, and what other socialists want to do, and THEN run your numbers. you will find that i am right on this.

That is the truth most new generations are late to find out.

Nope. Younger generations (namely Gen Z) are libertarian.

Quote:
Compared to previous generations when they were young in these national surveys, iGen is more likely to support abortion rights, same-sex marriage and legalizing marijuana and less likely to support the death penalty — usually considered liberal beliefs. But they are also less likely to support gun control, national health care and government environmental regulation — usually considered conservative beliefs.

How can iGen hold these seemingly contradictory beliefs? In short, because they’re libertarians (or at least more libertarian than their elders).

Just because people disagree with your political stance, they aren't "haters" you are the problem with our modern political divide when you say things like that.

I love the "homes for everyone" I mean really, are you kidding me? Why stop there, doesn't everyone deserve a car, and unlimited starbucks, and free gas for the free car too while we are at it. Its actually a pretty immature view that is behind all of this.

Reagan definitely would have been re-elected to a 3rd term, as that is how Bush was elected, to continue the Reagan agenda/legacy. Many a president pre and post the two term limit would have been elected for multiple terms.
Heck, FDR's cousin Teddy would have easily won a 3rd term, but he decided to carry on the tradition of GW and only serve two terms.

That is part of the problem with incumbency, it gives a huge and unfair advantage to those holding office.

The one thing she has in common with Trump is that they are both breathtakingly dumb. She's afraid of the media for the same reason Trump is: being exposed as an absolute idiot.
