The wealthy should pay more than everyone, in fact they should be paying a lot more! Why does anyone need to be rich anyway? Shouldn’t every American be the same?
Why do you feel entitled to my money? Why don’t you try and get some and see what happens.
Cortez is a gift to Republicans, the more she says, the scary the Democrats message becomes. You couldn't have made this any better going into the election.

you can be rich too. You just have to want to be, but it requires hard work. Nobody cares if you live under the bridge.
Why don't you understand that Medicare and Social Security are socialist programs that have worked and worked well? Why are you comparing what the USA has in place to these other countries and their particular policies?
No Medicare and SS are not a socialist programs.....both are a type of insurance program that people and their employers have paid into to for their entire working life and still after retiring still pay a monthly premium for their medical needs. Medicare cost $134 a month taken out of their SS each month plus 20% of medical cost occurred. Hardly socialism.
Since life expectancy is about 75-80 that is about 10-15 years on SS compared to 45-50 years of paying into the system. FICA payroll tax is over 15%.
If any of those programs are socialism I want my money back.

One: that is not socialism that is Communism and we know how that worked out in most communist countries over the years. And two: for your information the top 50% of American federal tax payers pays about 96% of all federal income taxes and the bottom 50% pays about 4%.....How is that fair?

"are not a socialist programs"
Depends on what your definition of "socialist" programs is.
Social Security DOES use the term "Social" for a good reason.

Is "is' out of the Slick Willie play book?

The term 'social' in SS comes from FDR and a democratic congress, so yea for a good reason. But used as a noun.....

Actually, through a fluke, Rep Crowley, the guy she beat remains on the general election ballot. I know nothing about that district, but it would be ironic if she lost the general election with higher turnout.

I'm just saying that the more she talks the more some Dem voters may look for another line to check in November.

I agree... as her socialist message is wearing thin even with liberals.
Why did you think that?
Alexandria used Trump's playbook to win her primary.
Just as Trump wasn't your average Republican, she is not your average Democrat. So why shouldn't she continue to use the same playbook that got her this far?
It should be obvious by now that Ocasio-Cortez is not interested in being the 'new face' of the Democratic party. She's not interested in playing those party games at all. She just wants to win a seat in the House of Representatives come November and that all she wants.
If that means shooing the press out of her events, that's how it is. Just like Trump did. If it means going off to another state to support someone who's doing the same, she will go, just like Trump did, and in return, she will get some support from there, just like Trump did.
That's the thing. Trump showed them all that taking control of a campaign, keeping it all personal and focused on him and his relationship to his voting base, works better now than trying to get everyone on the bandwagon.
It's actually a very simple playbook, and it can work for anyone in either party if the candidate works hard enough to allow it to work.
