Impeachment is the republican talking point. Most democrats are against it.
This is, quite possibly, the single most delusional thing I have ever seen on this forum.
Aside from that I would think that democrats would be against it because if they impeach trump it will be the undoing of the left in this country for a generation. And as silly and neurotic as they are, the left actually does see the writing on the wall.

Did Gerald Ford appoint Richard Nixon as president after he pardoned him? No, that would have been really stupid. Likewise, Pence wouldn't do the same.
Does anyone remember how Ford became VP? He is the only sitting President to have never been elected to either position.
Again, Trump supports showing their ignorance of the US history, the rule of law and the Constitution. I'm not sure what gives them the idea that the president can just appoint a vice president in the case of a vacancy in that office. Like Trump, they just say something that is not true and they all think "it works like that".
To be sure, the president cannot just appoint a vice president and that's the end of that.
They should really read the 25th Amendment one day. Article 2 to be precise.
"Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress."
