George Papadopoulos, 31, told the court in Washington DC he was a "patriotic American" who made a mistake by lying.
He pleaded guilty last October to lying to the FBI about the timing of meetings with alleged go-betweens for Moscow.
He was the first ex-Trump aide arrested in the probe into an alleged Kremlin plot to sway the 2016 US vote.
The important part of his guilty plea was that he also agreed to cooperate with the prosecution, that may have something to do with sentencing. He is far from the largest fish in the investigation.
LOL! What a crime! He didn't return a library book in High School, and Mueller will decide on that sentence.
Trump didn't know any of the names of the advisors he announced on TV...Carter Page, Papadopoulos, etc..until Putin slipped him a note of who would be hired next.
Papadopolous will be jailed and rejailed and rejailed if he so.much as racks up a library fine after his 6 months are over..for..being the POS traitor who caused the entire investigation to continue for so long.
He ought to be handed the bill when its all over.
14 days? my nephew did more time in county jail for failing a drug test on his parole for drug possesion....14 days for lying to the FBI.....crime of the century.
The important part of his guilty plea was that he also agreed to cooperate with the prosecution, that may have something to do with sentencing. He is far from the largest fish in the investigation.
It's funny that the Trump fans overlook that detail.
I guess 14 is better for GP, as opposed to the 30 Moss was going to go with. A light sentence, but what info did he provide in exchange?
