Most of whom are filled with people who lean Democratic and are socially progressive and aren't considered "true Christians" by the Trump supporting evangelicals.
They are? Did you take a poll. According to Pew all Christians voted for Trump over Hillary. According to many of the posts in this thread all Christians are the same as all Muslims?
And the make believe Moderate Islamists, magically become enlightened Liberals by setting foot on American soil
Great news! That includes the Mosaic and Levitican laws, including the Ten Commandments and all edicts against homosexuality, tattoos, dietary laws, wearing cloth made of multiple fibers, and you don't have to stone your wife to death for not being a virgin.
Shouldn’t a religious institution be revoked its tax exemption and even perhaps be banned or not protected under the First Amendment for spreading violence, hatred or spread messages that homosexuality, apostasy, adultery, etc. carries death penalty and encourage its adherents to blow themselves up or kill somebody because of what is written in the Islamic and Jewish scriptures? I think it’s absurd and quite threatening.
Many Muslims and religious Jews spread violence and/or hatred to our societies which is incompatible especially in the 21st Century and the Western world.
Why should the American government give those synagogues and mosques tax exemption when they show hate and violence?!
So then the church has a say in the government then?
Nothing bad has been done in the name of Christianity as it cannot be justified in the name of Christ. What happened during the crusades 1000 years ago was to protect Christians from being brutally murdered by the Muslims there was no other choice but to defend.
So explain the witch trials. Or what about the inquisitions? Or the residential schools? Or the forced conversions in the Americas?
I say tax the churches. every religion, every single one. double dip, whatever. they have enough to afford it.
I agree 100%, just treat everyone the same. I am surrounded by churches in my municipality, at the very least they should be paying property taxes. I wish our municipality would put a cap on churches moving in. We need taxpaying businesses or residents, not churches that don't contribute.
