This was a very good strategy by Trump and the White House to sell this fake news story to the NYT. It might actually work if Fox News and Trump's base buy into it....

McCabe memos say Rosenstein considered secretly recording Trump

Quote:
Memos written by Andrew McCabe, then the acting FBI director, say deputy attorney general Rod J. Rosenstein suggested he secretly record his talks with President Trump, and that Rosenstein discussed possibly trying to remove him from office, according to people familiar with the matter.

The account, first reported by the New York Times, paints Rosenstein as so concerned in May 2017 in the wake of Trump’s firing of then-FBI director James B. Comey that he contemplated secretly recording conversations with the president. He also initiated discussions about invoking the 25th amendment, which details how the Cabinet can decide whether a president is no longer able to discharge the duties of the job, one of the McCabe memos said.

I don't typically buy into many conspiracy theories, but I would buy that.

McCabe memos say Rosenstein considered secretly recording Trump

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world...=.8c00418be5fd
Actually, when I read that link from the WaPO, it says that in McCabe's memos he wrote (notes), that Rosenstein encouraged him (McCabe) to record his interactions with Trump. It says:

Memos written by Andrew McCabe, then the acting FBI director, say deputy attorney general Rod J. Rosenstein suggested he secretly record his talks with President Trump, and that Rosenstein discussed possibly trying to remove him from office, according to people familiar with the matter.

So the first half of the sentence is McCabe's memos saying Rosenstein advised him to record when he talked with Trump. Second half is that Rosenstein discussed removing Trump from office but THAT comment was attributed to "people familiar with the matter."

The more time that passes the only honest one in this entire dumpster fire of the DC swamp is Trump. He inherited all these back stabbing self-entitled swamp creatures. None of them can be trusted. Trump is the President of the United States and he is going to have to personally wand every person he speaks to in and out of the Oval office for bugs because none of them can be trusted or trust worthy. Think about that for a moment.

To those accusing the NYT of torpedoing Rod and the FBI, don't be surprised if this is exactly what Rodenstein wanted so Trump fires him and perhaps he fires Muller too because from where I sit Muller has nothing and doesn't know how to get himself out of the hole he dug with this investigation. He knows Progressive, socialist Democrats will never accept his findings if they don't have a negative impact against the President. Trump firing Muller might be the only way he saves face. At least he has the I tired, but Trump fired me excuse. I hope Trump doesn't fire Muller and let's him drown in his own self-righteousness

With Manafort and Cohen fully cooperating with federal prosecutors, Donald Trump has to be freaking out. This fake story was leaked to raise questions about Rosenstein so Trump can fire him.

This story about Rosenstein, whether it's true or not, was a HUGE win for Trump today, and White House officials who work for Trump played the NYT big time.
Man, you guys want it both ways. FYI: The NYT gets played nearly on a daily basis. Last week they went after Hayley and knowingly printed a false story about her. The NYT is not reputable. Frankly, I don't want this story to be true. Because if it is we are one step closer to complete Anarchy in this country. Real Anarchy comes from the top, not the bottom. When it's the common folk it's called civil unrest.

Correct. Like Jeff Sessions and Rod Rosenstein to name two.

If you are capable of looking at somethings objectively the facts are that trump the outsider has turned everything upside down and has exposed the dirty, shameful underbelly of DC and the elites that we always knew existed. On top of that Trump has kept 80% of his campaign promises and we are 21 months into his first term,. That is unheard off. The country is thriving because of his policies and he has shown that there is a way to navigate around Washington gridlock and the lifelong DC players that had this town wrapped up in chaos have no place to run and hide. These facts are undeniable. We all know Trump is not perfect, we don't care. No one is perfect. not you, not me, no one is. If all of Washington DC worked as hard as Trump has worked for this country and held themselves to the same "perfect" standards they have attempted to hold Trump to this country wouldn't be divided up the way it has been.
