I'd say if we have just seen the tip of the iceberg on these bailouts and foreclosures and not the bottom as the media reports..that will be the last straw.

It is only the beginning. Most Americans will, as they have done in the past, turn to the government for help. They voted in a Democrat to help them in the 1930's and they will do so again...but will unwittingly accelerate the decline of this country. Increased Federal programs and taxes on the middle class will further erode this nation.

I think that after another year or so of rough times we'll find some band-aid to strap on to it and we'll putter along for another 10-15 years. That's when the really big one comes along. I've no idea what will precipitate it but that's what my Nostradamus cap tells me.

I like you people My husband and I talk about this endlessly. What the heck are we going to do. I didn't live through the last depression but I can tighten my belt if needed. I just want to be back down south when all Heck breaks loose.

Never, ever be dismissive of the issues others wish to discuss. The issues are legitimate to them, and they have every right to discuss them. When they are out of bounds, I'll take care of the issues, it isn't your concern.

Regarding your perspective of the legitimacy and gravity of this subject, just keep in mind that many may not participate in the discussion because they view it as a false and/or erroneous observation.

Clear?

It's actually refreshing to see that there's people out there that think we're headed for big big trouble.

For a while I thought I was the only one who felt this way.

I'd like to be in the Endless Mountains of PA or up in Northern NH. We can definitely tighten up our spending...but...if my dollar isn't worth anything then what?
