Yeah, FOX News viewers slavishly watch the network for longer periods of time than CNN viewers. CNN viewers watch and for bit then move on to other things - they actually have LIVES.
Nearly all the FOX News fans I know watch it religiously nearly all day every day. In many of those cases, it's ONLY thing they watch.
The higher FOX News ratings doesn't mean it has MORE viewers, it just means those viewers watch the network for longer periods of time.
No surprise there. Rightwingers LOVE indoctrination.

Kennie, that's exactly what it means. The cable TV ratings they're talking about in this article are based on individual program ratings per time slot compared across all the major news networks.
I was just thinking about this today. I watch both networks to get an idea as to what the truth is. FOX is much more fair and balanced than CNN. It’s not even close.
FOX brings on dissenting viewpoints and has engaging discussions while those other channels are just pathetic racist echo chambers. Most of the female reporters and guests on FOX are smoking hot too, and you better believe that brings up the ratings! Even the left leaning Jessica Tarlov is a total babe.

Kinda sad, almost. I remember when CNN was the name in cable news, the place everyone went for breaking news. They just can't learn and can't stop from digging that hole. CNN as it is today won't be around in ten years. Only question is will they throw liberals under the bus for the sake of survival or go down with the ship.
Was that not the most pathetic display of failure you've ever seen on CD? Poor Kennie doesn't know how TV ratings work.
Sure I do: Number of viewers over a CERTAIN PERIOD OF TIME is used to calculate the rating.
If viewers watch longer, they keep the rating points high over that entire time.
If viewers come and go the rating points are simply split up over those specific periods of time.
1 million FOX News viewers watching for 8 hours gives a much higher rating than 2 groups of 500,000 viewers watching CNN for 4 hours each.
In both of those cases, the total numbers of viewers are the same, but the 1st scenario gives double the rating.
