Smog, the pride of America. Damn Cali commues trying to clean up the air.. use to be more American when you could not see 10 ft in front of you and your eyes burned. Those tears and tunning noses? Thats just the conmie in you folks draining out!
We need to be able to burn as much cheap fuel as we want, who cares about air quality. Its a god given right in the US to use all our resources as quickly as possible, who cares about the next generations.

Strange fixation on gas prices, surely there are other upsides to living in OK and TX.

More freedom in other states. California has become repressive.

And gas is $2.34 here in southern Mo. And there is a proposition on the ballot to add 10 cents a gallon tax. Have no idea if it will pass but I doubt it. We are already stuck with that horrible ethanol to keep farmers happy.

Not to mention all the extra taxes built into every gallon. People would be shocked to see how much gas costs per gallon without all the added taxes.
But instead liberal kooks want to rail against "big oil" as the primary culprit. I am just surprised the oil industry does not start a public relations and/or marketing campaign to explain that much of their prices are not related to bringing their product to market and making a profit, and instead the local/state/federal taxes take a huge bite out of consumers wallets.

Where I live regular is $2.49 and premium is $2.89

That's going to fail. Sorry.

If it fails it will be because the voters were mislead in the wording of the proposition.
It was changed by the ballot commission to read as it does, instead of it being a repeal of the tax and vehicle increases of Brown.
It reads road repair, and not one word about repealing the tax, and vehicle registration increases, which is it's main purpose.

Bob.

I am glad that California has all their environmental regulations because it means much less oil production for them, which means more revenue for Texas, North Dakota, Wyoming, Oklahoma.

Hopefully, they elect more liberals in California has means less money in their state and more in Texas, North Dakota, Wyoming and Oklahoma.

Not only do the liberals out there pay $1.75+ more a gallon than some gas stations in Texas and Oklahoma, they have less state revenue from oil.

https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/SMU0...de_graphs=true

Oil employment has collapsed from 13,000 to 8,900 in Kern County, CA

https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/SMU0...de_graphs=true

While, oil production and construction employment has doubled in Midland, TX

Wow, the radical environmentalists and tax confiscators in California have caused gas prices that are nearly double that are of Texas and Oklahoma.

Nothing more patriotic than American oil, America coal, American ethanol, America natural gas.

https://www.gasbuddy.com/GasPrices/oklahoma

Wow, Texas and Oklahoma have $2.09 gasoline at some stations.

Compared to average of $3.81 in LA and $3.98 in San Francisco.

http://www.les.com/_resources/dyn/fi...ate-survey.pdf

According to the LES survey, Tulsa, OK has electric rates of 9.9 cents per KwH based on 1,000 KwH of use as opposed to over 36 cents in San Diego.
What you apparently don't get is that incomes are vastly different in coastal metro California than in East Bumble****, Oklahoma.

Two wage earners in my household, and we pull in $3-$500K per year. That's how we stomach $4 gas.

You're constantly portraying bizarre correlations between small rural towns and the nation's largest cities.

Does that mean that average household makes $300,000-$500,000 in California?

Silicon Valley, Coastal Orange County and Westside of LA make up what 10% of the state population?

https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/ca

Median household income is around: $63,000 in California.

Per-Capita income: $31,000 in California.

They tend to have big families in California, so the household sizes are some of the largest in the country

They don't care. In a few years they'll all buy electric vehicles. Only those too poor to buy them, plus antique car collectors, will buy gasoline in California.
