This has international incident written all over it. Here's the plan. Trump incites a war between civilians and then 'fixes' it.

The Trump Doctrine. Start a fire..put it out...start a fire...put it out...brag, brag, brag about it.
Thanks for proving once again that if you don't have a legitimate argument, call people names. That will work

It may be legal to carry arms but these militiamen with too much time on their hands could not do anything to an asylum seeker except shout slogans. In effect, they are just Rightwing/Trumpian fanboys.

And who's authority are they responsible to? Who is determining what role if any they should be playing on the border?

Facebook members have a call to arms to the militia "This is WAR!!!!", this stuff is not needed.

You do not want people with that mentality running around.

It's a recipe for disaster.

The military and official personnel know what the "mission" is, when you add these others, they come with their own "missions."

Lily: yes, it's one case, and no I didn't read it in the Huffington Post.

None of this is new, people. There have been private armed groups patrolling the US-Mexico border, with landowner permission, for well over a hundred years.

I honestly wonder how some of you get through those rare quiet no-news days. lulz.

Let the military and fbi round all of them up. Toss them in jail. Domestic terrorism solved.

Their own authority as U.S. Citizens. They determine their own role. Not all of us need government to tell us what to do all the time.

Agreed. I don't care how trained these people are or are not; they have not coordinated their efforts with the military and the best outcome that can happen is nothing at all. The worst that can happen is anyone's guess, but it isn't good. There are 5100 troops there now and no reason to add civilian militia members to them. Heck, 5100 is too many when the caravan hasn't even arrived.

So according to you any group can form, call themselves a militia and go off to war (so to speak) against anything they determine needs their attention.

Are you kidding me....

All hyperbole aside, have you ever spent any time in South Texas? The lands are enormous, remote, and difficult to traverse. Much of the land is privately held by ranchers who regularly experience trespassing, property damage, and theft from passing aliens. If they seek out and give permission for assistance guarding their land, it's not calling for war, nor are they out of legal standing in doing so. They are simply protecting their rightful property.

So much exaggeration.
