Why hasn't Rosenstein been fired but Sessions has? Trump isn't making any sense here.
He's making perfect sense, as this has nothing to do with job performance, and everything to do with the Russia investigation.
The only goal in all of this was to get Rosenstein off the investigation, which they can now do, without firing him.
Trump probably liked the job Sessions was doing as AG (for the same reasons as you), but he couldn't keep him because he recused himself from the investigation.
With Immigration being your chief concern, I don't think they'll find a full time AG who was as strong as Sessions, but this is a lot bigger than a typical AG position now. Immigration might have been the issue Trump pushed before the election, but he can drop that charade now and focus on the investigation, and keeping him and his family out of prison.
There was no justification to fire Sessions but there's been to fire Rosenstein who did appoint the special counsel and other improper deep state things. So I don't have any patience for what Trump has been doing here

I don't disagree too much. But Trump has had a vendetta against Session since his recusal, which is just totally ridiculous. This is a trait of Trump that has long bothered me before, that he is not loyal to his own people and just turns against them. Sessions owed Trump nothing more than he had been doing.
Rosenstein should have recused himself. He digned several of the fisa warrants, and they are being investigated, so he can't oversee an investigation where he may be called as a witness or defendant.
Until you're not president anyway. See also Nixon, Richard
Well if y'all are gonna impeach 45, the 45 might as well rock the boat.
