Officials have confirmed the suspect is now dead, and have said there were at least 11 victims in the attack.

At least 200 people were reportedly inside the bar attending a college country music night at the time.

"When deputies arrived they heard shots being fired, it was an active shooter situation," Ventura County Sheriff's office spokesman Eric Buschow said.

"They entered the location and I can tell you there are multiple fatalities, multiple injuries, among the victims is one of our sheriff's deputies that responded in that initial call, as well as the shooter."

Police have said the number of injured is expected to rise.

Unless thew whole country has the same laws, this argument is ridiculous.
We don't do border crossings between states, so having strict gun laws in one state doesn't make you immune from the state next door that doesn't have strict gun laws.

Having said that, I am not saying gun laws would have stopped this.

Yet another member of the "well regulated militia" has gone off the deep end.

Thoughts and prayers.

Default Another day, Another mass Murder: California Country Music Bar

12 people shot at a country music bar in Ventura, California. We should just have a mass murder du jour thread.

No good guy with a gun to stop him. Just one nut with a gun.
