Well, maybe France and Germany can step up to the plate and defend themselves (if that's possible). Of course, without Uncle Sam (Big Daddy Sam) being the big kid on the block for them, all that free health care, and various Santa Clause programs, won't have funding. I wonder how the populace in those nations will react? After all, a heroin addict doesn't take too kindly to giving the poison up cold turkey. And how about all those "new citizens" from the lovely Middle East? What will they do without the free money, food, housing, etc? Kill and rape a few more infidels in protest?
Trump hates NATO ... well, really, Trump's hates are so widespread and all-encompassing, aren't they? He's a generally contemptible guy who hates anyone who is rightly contemptuous of him. He makes no effort to be collegial, yet hates when he's excluded from a group. He a consummate con man, and hates the idea that possibly he hasn't connived a better deal. And, overall, he hates anyone who doesn't kowtow to him.

France will do what France always does. Ignore national security needs until they find themselves occupied then cry for someone to come and save them.
