It's pretty well known at this point that Trump won't read anything he is given, and most have essentially 5 minutes to make their point with him. Even when they tried to brief him on the constitution he zoned out. Trying to educate him via pictures and flash cards has done no good.
I understand that there is a portion of the population that thinks this acceptable, but this is beyond crazy and dangerous. The man, and his supporters, are happy with communication via memes and sound bytes. Actual facts and policy be damned.
sometimes you have to dig,but Some of what Trump is trying to do is not crazy : read and learn:
Veterans are not a monolithic group. Just like the US population in general, they come from all corners with all different backgrounds. So to say most of them dislike Trump or most of them like Trump are probably not true statements.
This said, from what I (keyword: I) heard and saw, I think some believe that Trump has done somewhat better than they expected. I doubt that many military veterans, love Trump. But, I do believe that many military veterans are very happy that Clinton lost.
Of course they have to dumb it down. You can just listen to him and realize he doesn't understand or know any words that contain more than a couple syllables.

First, nothing wrong with being a pansy pajama boy. That's just your bigotry - yes, bigotry - against so-called "unmanly" men. Second, the United States can well afford to reduce its military budget - especially after getting out of Iraq and reducing our presence in Afghanistan. That alone explains a big part of the budget reduction. Third, even without this, the USA still spends much more on its military than does China.
So don't worry. Our armed forces are more than adequately funded to retain superpower status, especially in light of the other human development items that justly should take greater priority
Express UK has cornered the market on World War 3 headlines. They've run literally hundreds of headlines using that phrase in the title. The military's tilt toward China as an up-and-coming rival is what sparked the decision to abandon the INF treaty.

I am not a Trumper but at least Trump has not got us bogged down in new never ending conflicts. Look at the messes started by Bush 2 and JFK and LBJ. N. Korea has at least backed off its previously aggressive posture during the Obama years. We will see what the future holds with that. Whatever Trump actually understands about the military he at least is not making reckless decisions regarding the military.
