This program gives access to basic health care to those who do not qualify for or cannot afford existing insurance programs.

I sure don't want illegals or anyone coming here and spreading diseases. So we can either take illegal immigration seriously (E-Verify) or let them keep coming and make sure they are not sick so they can at least work for their illegal wages.

America has to stop being so generous to illegals. And that is why the caravans refused Mexico's offers to let them stay and work in their country. What that LA county has done is make America an even more desirable destination for those caravans of impoverished (and unhealthy) Central Americans.

And btw Americans should NOT be educating illegals and their children in our public school systems. Not at over $12K a year per grade school student. Again, creating more incentives for illegals to gatecrash our borders.
How do you propose removing 12 million people? Do you know how much that would cost? Do you seriously think it is a good idea to deny education to our children? Think about why we want an educated populace. Do you think these refugees were sitting at home, content, no problems and then they see that they can get healthcare in LA. They immediately leave everything behind and walk a thousand miles for healthcare in LA. Really.

Do you guys obsess about anything besides illegal immigrants? How about this? We have a huge defense budget that could be whittled down by 1/3 easily. TSA is a bloated, useless mess that could be reduced by 1/2 at least. Our education is too expensive but accomplishes little and could use restructuring. If you hate taxpayers paying welfare so much, how about advocating increasing minimum wage? After all, employers are the ones who make money off the employees. And what about cutting the huge salaries all our politicians make? They certainly don't deserve it and that would save us a bundle too.

Yes Hilda it’s one of the few in the country because most in the country aren’t stupid enough to reward illegal aliens for breaking our laws .

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to expand access to healthcare for residents who do not qualify under the Affordable Care Act, primarily undocumented immigrants.

Supervisor Hilda Solis praised the program as "one of the very few in the entire nation that exists that provides this kind of service.”

Oh! The horror of practicing human compassion, especially when there is a war (on Christmas) going on!

You can't instantly remove that many people, why even mention it? Oh I know, so you can dismiss it as too big of a problem so we should do nothing about it, worse yet give unknown unvetted people amnesty.

Liberals don't like people exercising good judgement and they vehemently eschew the concept of personal responsibility. They will deny this fact, yet virtually every one of their policies, and all of the policies they propose are directly or indirectly designed to make life easier for people who do not pull their own weight (leeches) and consistently choose the unwise path (criminals).

It is one thing to do this for American citizens who are too stupid, lazy, undisciplined, or mentally imbalanced to conduct themselves like upstanding mature adults. Now they are extending (trading) those same benefits to illegal invaders in exchange for future votes. It is how they operate, and sadly it works. If the tide in this country is turning blue, it is because America has lost its way.

America is the most wealthy, advanced, and civilized country on Earth. Should we as Americans provide basic healthcare for all people in this country, or should we withhold healthcare services for certain people?

And republicans claim to be Christians and often use the word "God", and Jesus loved everyone and healed the sick. Its amazing how Christians in the republican party hate foreigners and oppose giving everyone in America basic healthcare services.

You want them to be here illegally and not work at the chicken plant or picking fruit? Until we have e-verify and start going after employers, they will keep coming. Might as well keep them healthy so they can keep picking and contributing to keeping our food prices down.

Do you and yours have to keep denying the very negative impact that illegal immigration has on our society? We are merely responding to the topic at hand. If you don't like discussing illegal immigration then feel free not to participate in those topics.

The topic of illegal immigration isn't the only one being discussed in this forum so what are you talking about? The topic of illegal immigration just irritates you because you have a personal agenda with it. It's always a tell all when posters constantly try to down play this issue and keep defending these illegal aliens.
