The No. 1 source of illegals are Asians overstaying their visas. Better build that wall 40,000 feet high to stop those planes from landing.

Walls can be scaled, flown over and tunneled under. And like you say, people can go around them because it is impossible to build a continuous wall from San Diego to Matamoros due to terrain. There's no need to waste $5 billion on a boondoggle just to make Trump and his supporters happy. We can have good border security without it.

Wrong! And coming here on a visa is not illegal entry only when they over stay do they become illegal aliens. We have a problem with both so should we just focus on one problem and ignore the other? That makes no sense at all!

The good walls can't be scaled or tunneled under. How many times do I have to repeat that? The last person that tried to scale one of those types of walls broke both legs trying. There is no waste in putting those types of walls on the most porous areas of our border. If we have such good border security then how did 11 plus million illegal aliens managed to breach it and are still doing so?

Oh stop with this partisan crap and Trump! Every American who loves this country should want good border security that includes a necessary wall.

I myself cant understand why democratic are not on board with this, its not the money, they didnt say anything when obama gave a trillion dollars to his buddies. I guess liberals, and not the everyday worker citizens but those in wshington with power, really do want to get united states away
Why don't Republicans vote for it? Did you ever consider that?

Some do and some don't. It's no secret that there are many sell out Republicans in congress that don't support anything Trump proposes. You didn't know that?

Do maga fools understand how a southern wall isn't enough to address immigration issues?

Nah...only bumper sticker length agenda points are capable of comprehension by the high school dropout deplorables.

It would probably make their collective heads explode when they realize we probably need TWO walls: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...gs-immigration

Which gets us back to main issue... trump voters only want a wall against certain race individuals and they probably don't care about a Canadian wall. The hypocrisy on immigration is pretty clear anyways since many red states skirt everify and employers are rarely if ever penalized: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...arely-enforced

Do Democrats understand that the main reason Trump got elected POTUS was to build the Mexican Border Wall?

Don't forget the refrain, "AND MEXICO IS GOING TO PAY FOR IT." Oh yeah...we know his lies and fear mongering and finger pointing got him elected. All too well. The question is why don't those who support his continued ineptness and irresponsibility understand this?

Trump is paying the price for making The Wall the most powerful symbol of immigration restriction, when it isn’t particularly important or achievable. He piled lurid fantasy on top of absurd overpromising by asserting that Mexico would somehow be made to pay for it.

This worked brilliantly for Trump during the campaign. His rally-goers delighted in his familiar lines and lies. America would have its Trumpian Wall — some 1,000 miles long, impenetrable and altogether “big and beautiful.”

Post election: Trump has fluctuated between insisting that The Wall will be built and rationalizing why it’s not being built. And back again and rationalizing who really is paying for it and swinging between begging and bullying and back again. And now back to falsely blaming those who understood the absurd rhetoric for what it was and blaming them for wanting to save us all from footing the bill for this nonsense. And for good measure let's throw in the lies claiming he has already built some of it. Who are you going to believe, your eyes or him? C'mon.

So for some on this thread to admonish those of us who knew this was absurd from the get-go, is ludicrous. To say that he really didn't mean Mexico would actually pay for it but but but..... and all the other nonsense and rolling stories, I say hogwash: Please recall the transcript of a call with Mexico’s President Enrique Peña Nieto. You know, the phone call in which Trump pleaded with Peña Nieto just to stop saying that Mexico wouldn’t pay for The Wall. I believe that was in the first week of his administration.

Trump couldn’t even manage that. It is not the Democrats who need schooled on their recall of events.

Actually, the main reason he was elected, was to be "a new sheriff in town", expressly brought in to stop the constant abuses, lies, and illegal legislation of the Democrats. A gunslinger to challenge, fight, and wipe out the bad guys. Nobody has to like the gunslinger, or even believe he is going to be fair. In fact the voters want him to be every bit as unfair as the Democrats have, and beat them at it, and get rid of them.

Once the gunslinger hired in an old-west town was finished and the bad guys driven out or relegated to irrelevance, the voters probably won't want him around any more, and will likely get rid of him. But for eight years, they DO want him running things... because he's there to stop people who are a lot worse.

And by the way, they also want him to build the Wall.

But make no mistake, the reason they elected him, was because he said "I will build the border wall, no matter whether the Democrats like it or not."

The voters liked his wall. But they liked his attitude even more. And that's why he was elected.
Too bad the only "bad guys" that Trump has taken down were the ones he hired.

Words escape me. Here goes another one.

Have a problem with what? I never sat on a forum all day long and ridiculed Obama and called him nasty names. I didn't even do it in private but then I grew up a long time ago.
