You miss the most important defining characteristic of any person, the heart and soul of the individual within.

All Latinos are not <fill-in-the-blank> alike. People with a similar skin color, or ancestry, are not herd animals who are genetically programed to look, feel, think and act alike.

That is the case, according to 48 of 59 CD posters in a poll.

Democrats must move away from identity politics or it will destroy our party.

It's destroying the nation.

The reason politicians use identity politics, is to balkanize the nation into groups of victims and everyone else is a potential oppressor trying to hurt them. These politicians divide the people against each other, setting themselves up as the sole arbiters, as if they are the only ones who can protect all of us victims, and hold the barbarians at the gates.

I find it patently ironic that RWNJ’s whine about identity politics when the white nationalist fervor of the RWNJ’s is the epitome of identity politics, lol.

Morons.

The Democrats are Putting all their eggs on this “diversity” and “intersectionality” thing to appeal to the farthest left of their base. I think it will backfire on them
Yeah, the dems going more left is not the right path, if they want to win, heck, trump won partially because the dems aren't in touch with the main/middle and it was evident with his talk on immigration, which a large amount of people want more crackdown on.

If the left puts up a loon like Warren or someone of her ilk to run against Trump they most certainly will lose in 2020.

Not a major Trump fan, here, just saying. Go more middle Dems, go back to supporting the working man the dems are just as bad as the republicans now with big business.

Yes, this intersectionality, oppression Olympics, and victimhood totem pole approach to how we view people is the opposite of what MLK talks about and it's driving us backwards.

Race/ethnicity should become of less of an identity point in our lives, not more.

I completely agree.

I imagine they'll try to run Bernie again as well.

Virtually all credible right-wingers disavow 'white nationalism,' including Trump. See his 2018 SOTU speech to see what he actually says, rather than what you might imagine him to have said. And as far as I can tell, white nationalism is a small fringe movement anyway. It is certainly identity politics, so you got that part right. You got everything else wrong.

BTW you might be interested to know that many of the white nationalists have progressive backgrounds. Jason Kessler, who organized the rally in Charlottesville, was an 'occupy Wall Street' supporter.

Exactly! We are moving backwards, away from MLK's dream. Surveys show that racial division got worse during the 8 years of President Obama.

This is not true. Democrats have 'social democracy,' i.e. strengthening and repairing safety nets. This is what Democrats should focus on, and jettison the identity politics.

If Democrats focus on ID politics and investigating Trump the next two years, it is likely that a)Trump will win re-election, b)the GOP will take back the house.
