Every time we get Republican leadership it's the same thing. Promises of huge tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations with the guarantee that the money will flow down to the middle and lower classes, stimulating the economy. Yet, every time we've tried this, we've ended up with a recession. They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Yet, people still buy into the idea that trickle-down policy works, largely because people have warm fuzzy feelings about the Reagan 1980s. When are we going to finally admit as a nation that George HW Bush was right when he called it "voodoo economics"?

Only a true free market will make the economy thrive. The US has never really had that. The closest thing they've had to it is crony capitalism.

............................... has someone suspended the business cycle in the last few years?

Keep in mind that the largest "stimulus" in US and world history (economic response to the Great Depression) had little effect on the severity nor the duration of the depression.

What is the alternative big tax increases, so they can have new social programs that benefit con-artists, professional welfare shoppers and government employees.

The economic problems that are likely to begin soon are due to Barack Obama appointment Janet Yellen and the zero-interest rate policies, corporate welfare that they called a bailout, monetizing the debt to hold the interest rates down so those who could leverage did to the extreme.

The next self-inflected recession will be because of big city elites and their puppets Yellen and Obama had zero-interest rate policies and the federal reserve buying the government's treasuries to hold interest rates down so the rich could aquire massive amounts of real estate and manipulate supply, corporations going into debt to buy back stocks and manipulate their numbers and go on big spending binges.

Globalism as in white-supremacist (((globalism))), or globalization, the real economic term?

"Lemming" Americans would be those who blame everything on some "ism" or another.
