If that bothers you then why don't you do something about the real issue we have in the US, the insane influence of lobbying?

If your residence is located more than xx miles from a food kitchen then you can get food stamps.

The "typical" Trump voter is poor, rural, Caucasian, on food stamps and utilize other social services. So Trump's base has the MOST to lose.

Talking Trump tells Dems to ‘come on over and make a deal’ as shutdown enters eighth day

Two years in office and tRump still thinks he "tells" congress and the opposition what to do.

Very amusing.

In rural areas, like most of NH, the soup kitchens can be based around the town hall or a church.

Each STATE has had the authority to waive the requirement for a percent enrolled and/ or if the STATE applies for an exemption due to economic conditions.

Most SNAP recipients are children, disabled, elderly or low income.

The average benefit is $125/ month, p/p.

The Tax Code has historically favored households with dependent children, whether the household could afford a family, or not. . The refundable Child Tax Credit doubled this year to $2000 per qualifying dependent. And there’s the refundable Earned Income Tax Credit, thing.

"What Happens When Money for the Foodstamp Program Runs Out in a few Weeks?"

Lots of kids going hungry?

Did Nancy say that or is this another Trump-like amateur attempt at right-winging propaganda?

Perhaps best I sign off now as I'm always inspired when I come across sad comments like this, let alone threads, that usually I try to avoid altogether...

Kind of like the dreaded nutritional school meal programs, destested by so many who seem to think it terrible the Federal Government seems to care more about the nutrition of children than some parents, do.

I don't believe this shutdown is completely about the wall. The wall is an excuse to shut down certain aspects of the Government for an extended period of time in order to get some important swamp clearing work done behind the curtain.

Good luck with that.

SNAP is supported by Big Food and Big Grocer lobbies/ donors.

PepsiCo would not be please if Dew and Cheetos were no longer be eligible for purchase with SNAP benefits.

Thank you! The republicans are STILL IN CHARGE of all of it so their lame attempt to blame the Democrats is just weak.

Gosh; have you heard of this new fangled thing called the TELEPHONE? Or Email? Stuff like that?

That said - Dems aren't in charge. McConnell and Ryan are still in charge. Looks like they threw up their hands and walked away.
