"Political correctness" is a euphemism invented by the Right Wing (when they were in the minority in Congress) for political ideas with which they disagree.
I agree with the two statements. I feel like these days, liberals are hypocritical because they want gays to have rights, but want people who talk about them to lose their jobs. Basically, they're OK with free speech as long as no prejudice takes place. I am tolerant of all people and support things like gay rights, but if people want to be prejudiced, they have every right to do so.
Yes, Heston. Meanwhile, some should be a little more careful with that hypocrite label. There were places in this country where you could be fired for so much as advocating that gays should have equal rights as little as 25 years ago. Perhaps some should know a little more about where their history comes from...

Actually, the term was first coined by the Bolsheviks to describe those ideas that would receive official state approval. It was re-introduced by leftist academicians in the mid twentieth century, and radical leader of the '60's, as a succinct reference to those beliefs that were considered acceptable in leftist ideology, the clear implication being that mere consideration or expression of any other ideas was unacceptable. Eventually both the left and the right began to use the term in somewhat tongue-in-cheek fashion, but its origins were with the left, who originally were quite serious about use of the term to apply to those ideas they considered acceptable.
