Wrong. Actually, Mr Schumer guaranteed that the last bill passed by the House before Christmas would get no Democrat votes in the Senate. That action prevented its passage by the Senate.
But it didn't even get to that point. The Republicans didn't even have enough Republicans on board to get it out of committee.
The Republicans for the last two years have never had agreement on money for the wall.
The "deal" is money for Border Security.
The word or any form of the word "wall" will never appear in any deal. Trump needs to go back to Mexico for money for a wall.
Congress will fund security. Drones, border agents etc...
Or maybe he could use some of the $$ earmarked for national cyber security that hasnt been touched .

These (the bold) are the issues.
A Republican subset that includes those representing border areas have opposed fixed walls in multiple areas - including the Rio Grande valley and other portions of the of the 700 miles - from the beginning, or at least since 2006. How their concerns and those of others are addressed is no doubt complicated but worth considering for who the heck doesn't want "border security."
But it is on Trump to broker up enough votes for his vision - be they Republican votes or Democratic votes. If he cannot, then he needs to get on with the business of running the US government.
The last thing we need is for him rummaging through Homeland Security for $5billion of so-called "extra" money - and all the additional billions that will be needed after that. Already there are not adequate resources to scan container ship cargos that enter East coast ports.
There are other threats to the US borders beyond those posed by some illegal immigrants. These posts that compare the $5billion to the total US budget completely miss the point.
No, it's not fun to you guys at all. Nothing in any of the comments in any of the threads would suggest a fun factor. You guys are tripping big time, and if we are boot lickers, then there is no words to describe the blind love your side have for Trump, no words will do it justice.
Sure it is, you obama boot lickers are bickering about: its not a wall, it's a fence...blah blah blah....
You're right, there are no words that can live up to the obama boot licker love for obama....not even close...
No, it's not, but if that's what you want to believe then so be it. Is this new congress fun for you also.
I'm about letting the chips fall where they fall...
I know you may not believe this, but there were a thing or 2 that I agreed with obama....
Yes, we gained in the senate, so the house is going to try and impeach trump....anyone with 1/1024 of a brain knows there is nothing there to impeach...and if they do, it will never get past the senate, just like slick willie....
As we know, Mr. Trump ran on the promise that the Wall would be paid for by Mexico. Regardless of what he keeps trying to claim, it is obvious that Mexico will not be paying for said wall, directly or indirectly. Hence, Mr. Trump, as President, is now asking the American taxpayers to pay.
Therefore, President Trump, whom is running for re-election, should give up on the wall for now, and say that, if re-elected, the wall will be built with taxpayer money.
So, at his rallies, he would ask the audience of they approve of using tax money to pay for the wall. If Mr. Trump then wins re-election, so be it.
