No, you should ponder why Obama didn't get his way when he had a majority in the house and senate. He wanted amnesty for illegals and didn't get it.

They are playing games. They need to put out a bill that pays the essentials only and it would pass. They won't though because they want to play politics using the workers as pawns. All they need to do is pass an appropriations bill to fund the essentials pay.
McConnell won't let anything through unless it has Trump's wall money. He doesn't care that people aren't getting paid.
