Why should they have racial diversity? It's highly unlikely that a close-knit group of friends would be racially diverse in the 90's.

Why pretend otherwise? Why add inauthentic characters and pretend?

There is enough art that depicts other racial groups - although I guess they don't have the viewership to make them successful all the time. Which is sad.

Kramer did have a black attorney. Is that diverse enough for you?
Love is a very strong term.

I didn't watch it very much. Wasn't a huge fan of Friends either.

I think it depends on where you grew up.

No, Buddy, it wasn't. No one mopped the floor in heels and pearls. No one.

Did your mother? Because ok, yes, we have a winner. A mom who mopped the floor wearing heels and pearls and perfect makeup.

I'm referring to the show, specifically. Upper middle class New York City dwellers who were single.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with where I grew up, but rather, the characters in the Seinfeld show.

Stop chuckling and realize that your own view may be the result of all the anti-'50s propaganda you've read. Beaver's American dream in the suburbs with a stay-at-home mom was indeed the kind of life many had then, and many others aspired to.

Friends was a very progressive show at the time. It wasn’t perfect. It was a bit whitebread and sometimes homophobic but by 1994 standards it was way ahead of its time.

oh okay/ I still think the lack of diversity had little to do with them portraying reality and more to do with the norm at the time.

Seinfeld had characters representing all races.

Further evidence that this was a troll job
