After participating in the Palestinian-American doctor thread and a few Jews hate Christmas threads, you shouldn't be surprised.

This thread is disingenuous.

It was a post-it note indicating where her ancestral homeland is located.

Yet another example of the hypocritical left. These Nazis are trying to eliminate Israel, thank God they will not be successful.

As to how would the U.S. enable the destruction of Israel, it would do so by pulling financial aid. The far leftists would advocate for that, and too many of them would be the tipping point. I, as an American Jew, can see the ramifications of that, were it to happen, to Jews worldwide.

As the Holocaust fades into history as survivors die off, we run more of a risk.

(On an aside, I met a survivor a few weeks ago. She said she was 4, and she remembers it vividly.)
How many times must it be pointed out that it's not only "far leftists" suggesting this? Do you have any idea how many "America First" Trump supporters would like to do the very same thing? Or how many Holocaust deniers identify as anything but liberal? I've had some very heated arguments on here with people who love to talk about how America was created by white Christians, for white Christians, and I promise you, they were not Democrats, nor were they your friends.

Your concern is understandable. Your finger-pointing is misguided.

Keep in mind the Jewish Zionists persecuted and killed many Christian Arabs/Palestinians as well

Rachel, I've read your comments in this thread and in some cases think you may be unfairly calling posts anti-Semitic. Might be wise to refrain from overuse of the term. I agree with U.S. support of Israel, and hate to see when Jews truly are persecuted, but Zionist Jews who want to control everything; be it the government, money, the entertainment and news industries; along with Jews who are over-sensitive calling things anti-Semitic that aren't, are very disappointing and a huge turn off. It could create haters out of people who wouldn't have been otherwise. Fortunately, I'm mature and wise enough to be able to distinguish between Zionists and other Jews.

And btw, I totally agree with your OP, it is disturbing what that representative did. Almost as disturbing as the video I saw of Muslims in Dearborn, MI who had a huge either painting on the side of a building or some type of tapestry that hung down the side of it, as they had men at least ten deep in a huge circle hitting their chests with one hand as they chanted. The painting or tapestry was a painting of the decapitated head of Jesus with his eyes mostly closed and blood dripping from his neck.

The good news is that when people do awful things like that they expose their true beliefs. And Democrats are digging a hole for themselves that will hurt them in the 2020 election cycle if enough of our voting populace is paying attention.

Fake news.

That video was of Shia Muslims at the end of a religious procession, and the painting depicts Imam Hussain, the grandson of the prophet Muhammad, who was killed at the Battle of Karbala.

https://www.freep.com/story/news/loc...tice/91825602/

Escorted by Dearborn police, thousands marched from Fordson High School along the sidewalk to nearby Ford Woods Park. Some gathered in circles to rhythmically sway their arms and tap their chests while chanting religious tributes called latmiya. Many waved large flags that fluttered, carrying tributes and depictions of Imam Hussain and the battles he led.

Various signs at the rally read: "Muslims Stand Against ISIS," "Muslims Against Terror," and "Live Free or Die with Dignity!!." Other signs criticized racism and police abuse, with one large banner reading "In Solidarity With the Victims of Police Brutality." And some signs called for the release of Shia leaders held captive in countries and criticized Israel and Saudi Arabia for what they consider oppression.

Antisemitism by definition is an expression of hostility. It is a prejudice. It labels. To counter antisemitism with hostility and prejudice is equally objectionable. To label without reason is problematic. Now, yes, this particular Congresswoman may well be antisemitic. That "label" may well fit. Or perhaps not. She may well identify strongly as a Palestinian ... but accept the political reality of Israel (even though to her, historically, it is "Palestine") ... but hold no hate in her heart for Jews. Some do rise above hate.

Likewise, some who advocate for policies that do not benefit Israel may well be anti-semitic but there are so many other considerations that to throw "racist" labels around without cause is not helpful. The situation in the Middle East is profoundly complicated with implications for America as a whole. For many, discussion of Middle Eastern politics has little to do with religion and even less with religious prejudice.
