So much insecurity.

Actually, no...I wouldn’t presume to think anything about what they should’ve rethought.

BTW...you haven’t a clue what they thought by the 1980’s. LMAO

African Americans have become too one dimensional? According to who? You? What exactly makes you the African American expert on our ‘dimensions?’

Black’s negative attitude toward capitalism? According to who? You? What makes you an expert on black attitudes towards ANY system?

I just love how you folks come on here with these authoritative opinions about blacks this and blacks that...as if you have any idea of what you’re talking about. I walk into a barbershop every Saturday filled with more black folks (all of whom are friends and acquaintances of mine) than you’ve known all your life, but you apparently know more about what blacks think than I do.

The arrogance of some of you folks is astounding.

Being brown doesn’t give your opinions on black folks any additional preponderance. I know plenty of coconuts and most of them are worse than the worst racist white person. As it appertains to this topic, you’re not black, so you may as well be white. It’s all the same to me.

I’m bored with you and your inner struggles. You don’t get to speak for other people any more than you will allow them to speak for you. Deal with your insecurity - it’s solely your problem - definitely not mine.

These views would depend on your network of black friends.

Most black people I know are very entrepreneurial focused, aged 45 or less and are not hung up on the idea of any government programs helping them.

My network is also primarily well educated - at least Master's degrees in most circumstances, some have bachelors but many years of work experience in a particular field.

Most of the people I know who are gung ho on government programs and reparations "for slavery" are people who spend their time in a silo of black nationalist YouTube videos and I wouldn't consider them intellectuals - just regurgitate-rs of other people's opinions.

Today, Marxism, socialism, and communism, is not a huge focus of black American political thought, especially not so in regards to economics. As a group we are much more focused on entrepreneurialism, this is even evidenced in popular "black" music like hip hop. Everybody wants to be an entrepreneur or a "billionaire" today lol.

I'll also note that even the black nationalist minded folks - they are very "black business" focused and supporting black owned businesses. This has always been common in black America. Black businesses have grown in the past 25 years more than any other demographic in this country.

LMAO.. that’s rich.

I'm on a Beyonce roll today BTW on my lunch and they always throw in a lot of her husband's songs. One of my favorite of her songs:

https://youtu.be/LrCHz1gwzTo

favorite lyrics:

Quote:
like my baby heir, with baby hair and afros
I like my negro nose with Jackson Five nostrils
Earned all this money but they never take the country out me
I got a hot sauce in my bag, swag

I see it, I want it
I stunt, yellow bone it
I dream it, I work hard
I grind 'til I own it

Bold is indicative of black people I know (also love that she mentioned her baby's afro and her husband "negro nose" lol - this is one of my favorite songs of hers).

From "Family Feud" Jay-Z her husband:
Quote:

If anybody gettin' handsome checks, it should be us
F**k rap, crack cocaine
Nah, we did that, black-owned things
Hundred percent, black-owned champagne

A large amount of other, not as well known probably to you black artists speak a lot about using capitalism to our advantage. This is not unusual in black America. People just have a (ridiculous to me) outdated view of us as a demographic.

LOL - so 1960s you are (seriously, that made me giggle especially the bold - FYI being charged with a crime doesn't mean someone committed it. Also everyone said that black panthers were racist but there is no indication that they were in that era. They actually made a lot of alliances with white groups/activists and Angela Davis is a big speaker/supporter of "inter-sectional" activism - her inclusive nature in this regard is one of the things I don't like all that much about her and her work/theories - I can appreciate inter-sectionality but I feel that it can distract groups from working on their own particular goals/needs when focus is spread out too wide)

She did love her some communist regimes.
The Jewish communtiy is one you do NOT offend given their power in America. So much in Washington goes through the Jewish power brokers who usually stay out of domestic American affairs (except when they feel religion is an issue) and usually their priority is promoting Israel's interests. American Jews are also very wealthy and use their influence to support Israel. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jewish power brokers put pressure on this museum and organization to rescind this award.

Catering to the Jewish community and supporting Israel is simply a fact of politics for both parties though the Democrats are starting to forget that and hopefully they suffer for it.

Remember many Jews helped blacks out during the civil rights movement yet many blacks (and Hispanics like Ocasia Cortez) are anti-Semitic.

On this - I don't think that many blacks or hispanics are anti-Semitic, not even Angela Davis.

However, many of us and many Americans in general do have an issue with the blind eye that is turned to Israel and their abuses of the Palestinian populace in the State of Israel and often us expressing a view on this regards make people label us (all Americans) as anti-Semitic.

Interestingly, the same people that have criticisms of Israel as a nation also have criticisms of the USA yet they are not considered "anti-American" by too many people.

Not agreeing with the policies of Israel, the nation, is not, in and of itself, anti-Semitic.

On Jews helping blacks during the CRM, blacks also helped Jews in the early 1900s. Both groups worked together. Jews, like blacks were often denied admission especially to esteemed Universities and black people/activists often spoke out in support of Jews and against racism/anti-semitism, and segregation that was imparted on both Jewish and black American students.
