No one can be in the wrong if gov. is providing safety and security that representatives take an oath to provide in accordance with our constitution. Not the constitution of other nations or their people. Pelosi and Schumer and the democrats in congress are denying a lessor level of safety and security than what they receive to the general population. They will cave or we don't have a country.

Air travel in the United States worked just fine for over half a century before TSA started telling people to take off their shoes, and basing security policy on "stuff Jack Bauer would do on his TV show."

Not 2 years ago, DHS testing TSA screening resulted in a 95% failure rate. So they are barely serving any tangible purpose as it is. Thy never were more than a placebo effect to give people an illusion of safe air travel in order to keep people flying, which thy would anyway, given the number of hijacked airplanes in the world prior to 9-11 that DID NOT result in creating huge new bureaucracies and additional 1-2 hours waits at airports just for illusory optics.

And take it from someone who is TSA and global entry prescreened...if you pay Leviathan their tribute, pre-911 is exactly how airports work, even with all that TSA nonsense.

Say it once, say it twice - TSA exists to create an illusion of safety. They exist for no other reason. They fail 95% of the time they are tested. They are a placebo, not an actual cure/treatment. If they go away, the safety remains the same and all that changes is the illusion.

People work to earn money, you know the very thing Republicans harp endlessly about. "The problem with America today is that poor people abuse the welfare system." Blah, blah, blah. . . They have to pay their bills. They don't care about the dumb wall or political infighting. They need to pay their mortgage and childcare. The fact that they may get paid sometime in the future, after Trump and Mitch McConnell decide to get over their ego trip does them no good when they need to buy food right this minute.
You are funny
Non public workers are often impacted by Union Strikes and even cost cutting Forloughs. The only difference is that NonPublic Employees can usually use their Vacation time when they are forced off the job. Been there and done that- those that didn’t have saved vacation never got paid for days they couldn’t work.

I feel sorry for any Federal worker who isn’t getting a paycheck ... Leftists act like this is the First Shutdown in the history of the USA. This one is a Partial Shutdown. They have options, including finding another job. The choice of some is to fear monger, Sue the American Taxpayer & hold a sickout.

Federal employment is probably not what they should aspire to.

Check out the House Schedule that Nancy just released. They just got back from there Beach Juvket with the Hispanic Lobby’s and Unions. Good strategy meetings! House is on recess all next week. Furloughed employees go to Force Reduction. Current Furloughs just missed their 1st check this Monday, sickouts started before they missed their 1st check & so did the Lawsuits.

Who cares are we on a schoolyard? This nonsense is interrupting the lives of people who have nothing to do with it. Fully privatize the airline industry ASAP, and now looks like the perfect time.

Yeah, no. That's not the answer. This is Trump's political stunt and he owns it.

Nope, we're talking about a paltry $5.6B and the Democrats would rather keep the government shut down than give that pittance.

That's fine, keep it shut down all year.

Nope, they never had a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. So you're wrong again.
