Denver and many big cities used to be fun with unique elements to them.
I enjoyed my time in Capitol Hill but that was 2000-2001 before Denver became a dysfunctional city that it has become.
I visit because I am from from there but I have have interest in the new Denver. It's become a very dangerous and depressing city compared to what is was in 2000.
Paying top dollar for an awful atmosphere doesn't interest me.
Can't even imagine living in the city of Denver these days. It's a very dangerous city compared 2000, smells like marijuana in many neighborhoods, lots of open-air drug use, massive and very aggressive homeless population that is desperate and who can blame them the weather is horrible much of the year and the price of everything has become insane.
Colorado has a much lower minimum wage but downtown Denver has slowly priced the small businesses out and it's mainly chain retail now.
Everybody I know who visited there for a while, absolutely loved it.
OP hasn't been to Denver since they moved out of it. Everything he listed as a negative are conservative talking points.
Open air drug use? Hilarious. Many neighborhoods smell like marijuana? Hardly. There are aggressive homeless in every city. You won't find them in North Dakota because even the homeless realize it sucks there. Weather is subjective for most. It will snow one day and be 60 degrees the next.
Funny how all of these cities are growing at a rate that they haven't in decades. Even with high COL buissness are flocking to SF, NYC, Seattle, and LA.

Probably mostly businesses that cater to high income customers. The middle class is moving out of California, while high income people are moving in.
