Someone said, "Does anyone know what he is doing?"
Confusing all around if you ask me.
It's obvious the kids are confused. First, when Phillips and his group come up to the cheering, dancing kids, they act like they are glad to see him. It looks like he is joining their chanting and dancing of their school spirit song, to help drown out the horrible things the racist hate group is shouting. Instead of taking a stand against the racists, he moves on to single out one kid and bully him. That obviously leaves the kids confused, as you quote. Especially when his partner starts saying racist things to the kids.
It appears that Phillips thought that by getting in the kids face, banging his drum and pushing him with it, that he could provoke a response for the group of cameras that he brought along with his party. Nick Sandmann deserves a lot of credit for not responding to the provocation. Most people, including most adults, would not be so reserved when someone acts that aggressively towards them.
Am I the only person who finds generalizations like this disturbing and borderline anti-Semitic? That may not have been the intention, but it certainly sounds that way.

An Indian online said the song Phillips was singing was a song of war. It was made for their protest marches. Some peace huh?
I like the vid, his talking points, his confusion on how reverse racism and white guilt is supposed to work, and how a 15 year-old white kid's smile is Armageddon to the earth.

Black Americans may be thriving and cordial if we could ever separate them from nasty racist manipulative liberals.

My dude in the video here tries to lay it down, with eyes crossed. He don't get their logic neither.

The high school kids as a whole did nothing wrong or out of the ordinary either.
Yes, you are right. The video I originally saw was hard to hear what they were chanting. The full video is much more clear, and the high schoolers did not act out of the ordinary. They maintained their cool nicely in the face of the slurs and vitriol thrown their way.
