Not sure if this is the media's fault or perhaps she is just a bit much. But while I respect her viewpoints and agree with several things she stands for, I find her overexposure a bit much.

She is brand new but is acting like she has been a DC staple for decades. Shut up, get in there, do your job, get some experience and then we can talk. The media really needs to back off too.

I agree somewhat. I loved her on Colbert--she does have an energetic spirit and, I do like that she is honest about what the GOP and Trump are doing, and is unafraid to speak out. But she should show more respect toward her associates in the caucus--duh--unity is important--but I think she'll learn.

She's a work in progress. People complain about the lumps in Congress who do absolutely nothing and they complain about the more energetic, outspoken members. Can't make anyone happy. If she were a young man, she'd be seen as a go-getter. It takes all types of personalities to make a successful government and she happens to have a lot of passion.

The reason you people don’t like her is because you think DC is great and that the democratic establishment is fighting for your interests.

So logically you conclude AOC should shut up and become like everyone else. Raise money, work to secure corporate investments, and help protect foriegn policy interests abroad.

Sadly none of these things are meant to benefit you.

I’m a Trump voter and I like her because she challenges the status quo and is a threat to the old hags in the establishment who want everyone in lockstep. All they care about is their power and will change their views to fit whatever they think will keep them in power.

I hate many of her ideas but at least she isn’t afraid to shake things up. Time for millennial conservative leaders to challenge her socialist agenda and help form the future of our country.

I'm not a Democrat -- more Independent and I just roll my eyes when she speaks.

The argument -- and this would apply to either end of the spectrum -- is that politicians like her -- far left or far right -- have these wild ideas......and we know those ideas may not be realized in the form these dreamers present -- BUT they do have influence in changing the way we see issues.

I still can't figure out how she won.
I don't feel she's a threat to her party or any real issue YET.

So I get your point.

So sad that history is not taught in school like it used to be

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

- Norman Thomas, former U.S. Socialist Presidential Candidate

For once I actually agree with you here. Well mostly anyway...

Your point about the democrat establishment and its questionable genuineness in fighting for the interests of common Americans is valid, IMO. Most of AOCs colleagues don't like her primarily because she is bucking the establishment and jeopardizing the support of its wealthy donors. She's not going through the normal channels, and not following the bureaucratic protocol that those who have been in the system a long time have done.

She's largely a seat-of-the-pants politician, much like Trump, and as a right leaning centrist, I actually don't mind AOC. I like her energy and confidence. Its her politics that are a bit too out there for this country, IMO. If she could pull her political views closer to the center but retain that vigor and fighting spirit, I'd vote for her as president (assuming she met the age requirement).

I think she should lay low under the radar while she is new, gain some experience and see how DC runs, then try to make changes, but it might be hard to change the good ole boy system up there too.
