The coast guard is paid thru homeland security but is part of the military.
They can't quit or find other jobs. They deserve to be paid and should not be part of this fight. To cut down bills that would pay them means chuck schumer does not support the military and shame on most of the press for not making this story front and center in this crisis.
No, we don't get to make ourselves feel better by giving the Coast Guard preferential treatment while leaving the rest of the federal employees unpaid. Republicans attempt at constantly pandering to the military is not going to work this time.
They absolutely deserve to be paid. So do all the other federal employees. End the shutdown. Open the government.
In order to protect us from illegals and drug smugglers we are also not paying

13000 FBI agents
4400 DEA agents
54000 CBP agents
3600 deputy US Marshalls
53000 TSA employees

How effective are the ATF or DEA, around 500K people die every year due to tobacco use, drugs are flowing in and reaching their destination like clockwork, enough to cause numerous epidemics...so, no, it doesnt seem to me that these agencies are essential at all, they seem to be very ineffective.

These Dems only care about one thing. Getting more people into this country that'll vote for them. They don't care about American citizens. Flooding our nation with illegals is their top priority. It's all about them votes
