That could backfire if Venezuelans notice it is all about their oil again.
At least in this respect Maduro seems to have been right after all...
The new "president" should clearly rule out both the privatization of the oil industry and preferential treatment of US companies after Maduro if he doesn't want to come across as bought.
And of course he has to give to the Venezuelan people and and all the seized Venezuelan assets he has been "given".

He has already said he’ll sell off the state oil companies.

He won’t backtrack since he needs US support or else Maduro May purge him, and jail him.

What a disgrace. He is too young and stupid to understand the importance of keeping important industries nationalized.
I am beginning to be on Maduro's side...

Maybe they could exchange food and medicine for oil with China, without involving any money and banks.

Of course. Even the capitalist Chile has their copper industry (most profitable resource) nationalized: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chilea...tion_of_copper

This kid will sell his country to corporations and they will destroy it just like they did Nigeria.

The games up, all the people here who desperately believe the US government is a democracy war engine spreading freedom and justice where it goes should have a tough time dealing with this.
Economics are part of any relationship.

A booming VZ means improving the stability of the country. something desperately needed in SA.

business partnering with the government to stabilize relationships is a standard practice. Has been for decades.

The US has, however, ignored the importance of a stable SA for generations of administrations. Notice who would end up in our hemisphere without our presence and influence.

There is so much more going on than we know. Our politicians don't make public statements without being briefed on the situation.

I fear we have already gotten involved, we the public just don't know it yet. It took 20+ years to discover all the crap we were doing in Colombia and El Salvador the last time we intervened down there.

We've been involved for a long time.

Are you kidding me? This post is a product of decades of propaganda.

We have destroyed latin America. We destroyed Honduras, Guatemala, Cuba, Nicaragua, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile, and many more.

We did it deliberately. We supported and enforced genocidal right wing dictators to keep latin America in check.

We want them to privatize their oil industry, not so small Venezuela businesses can handle it, but so that large US corporations will come in and destroy the country like Nigeria was destroyed.

Even the capitalist success story brainwashed Americans like yourself like to spread has a nationalized copper industry to keep the profits in the hands of the Chilean people.

Privatizing oil is the last thing Venezuela needs

It has always been a witch hunt against any left-wing governments in LA, even if they worked.
The world really needs a new left-wing movement again. Not that whole conservative, imperialist, religious, greed trip that is destroying our planet.
