But none the less, Robin Roberts was just eating it up with that softball interview. GMA was very very somber this morning. They knew they and the entire MSM has been had by this.
Well, they weren’t the only ones, if you’re honest.

On Thursday, the President of the United States was asked about the homophobic, racist attack against Smollett by a reporter in the Oval Office.
"That, I can tell you, is horrible," Trump said. "I've seen it, last night. I think that's horrible. It doesn't get worse as far as I'm concerned."
One thing I don't understand is how does staging a hate crime get him a better salary? Being a victim gets you more money in Hollywood? Well, he won't have any pay and may be in BK after all the attorney fees, restitution and court costs.
You are not really trying. He didn't do it to increase his salary. He did it to help Kamala Harris' Presidential campaign.
That is one of the least surprising revelations. His phone has a treasure trove of information.
Wayyyy back in this thread many of us commented that him not turning over his phone was what I referred to as a big "red flag".
I forget which Jussie defender was arguing otherwise but it's pretty clear you had to have major blinders on to take him at his word from the beginning.
I'm not saying you had to say he was lying, but wow people, just take a neutral stance when there is a pretty fishy story getting laid down....let it develop.
Too many people make up their minds and cement them in place, unchanging even after additional facts completely change the game.
I know this much, you come forward post-Jussie with an accusation without any support and flimsy as heck....you're going to get Jussie memed.
It suddenly just got a whole lot harder to go after a Supreme Court nominee with next to nothing.
make himself famous....of course, now we all know his name
famous..more money,,,more offers
promote his new album
help his political cause
strike a blow for racism
make him a hero with his family and friends...and half the country
victim that fought back
on and on and on.....win win if you don't get caught
Hmm. That was interesting. I didn't watch the full GMA interview - sometimes I just can't take the soft ball bs that these people give to the interviewee. I can only stomach so much stupidity.
So, I didn't see the part where he revealed his anger - but it wasn't anger at being "attacked" (as everyone knows now), you could see deep seated hatred and anger for a specific target in his face.
This wasn't about "not liking his salary", that's a load.
It was either something bigger than him, or it was that his hatred, his rage got the better of him, and he tried to stage some hoax to get everyone else to his level of hatred and rage.
Every so often, you can see the "real" person behind the persona. He comes across as extremely positive on his twitter feed, with the exception of a few times that he loses his fricken mind when addressing President Trump.
In that GMA interview, he answered some questions with the same mindset as his comments to Trump. You can see that rage boiling right at the surface there - but as we know, it had nothing at all to do with some attack.
I'm sticking by my 2 previous conclusions:
This has to do with something bigger which we would likely never find out.
Or
He really does have the worst case of TDS I've ever seen - that is no light feat. The question is, however, if it is this, then does he really believe there's that much going on out there that he needs to stage one, or does he know it's bs but wants to push a narrative...which kind of points me back to the first conclusion.

Yeah, I know, it didn't fit the narrative!

The Smolletts have also been outspoken politically and, since their school years, devoted to causes like H.I.V./AIDS prevention and ending apartheid. They were raised in the orbit of the Black Panthers and, lately, have lent their voices to the Black Lives Matter movement.
Their trajectory, from child stars to successful adults, is born of their family and its history of activism.
“Their sense of justice is very strong, and it permeates everything that they do,” said Alfre Woodard, who has known Jussie and Jurnee since they were children; they worked with her at the nonprofit Artists for a New South Africa.
"My mom was in the movement with Bobby Seale and Huey Newton, and one of her first mentors was Julian Bond,” Mr. Smollett said of the Black Panther founders and the civil rights leader. “To this day, Angela Davis is one of her dearest friends. We’ve spent Mother’s Day with Angela.”
Well, they weren’t the only ones, if you’re honest.
That made no sense to conflate a "journalistic" (being kind) interview with the person making the claim with other people commenting on the incident.
That's like watching a fireman walking up to a burning car with someone trapped in it and then standing there watching them and then trying to divert blame off of the fireman not doing their job by citing some bystanders watching as well.
he doesn't see his father as being white, so your point about his 'white father' holds no water. i tend to agree that this was less about promoting his career than scoring political points.
The article you posted says his father didn't want to be called white. His father is still Russian and Jewish. There is the water. Your point is irrelevant because it has nothing to do with hatred for White America.
